Upcoming centennial celebration commemorates service to Georgians


August 26, 2014- Georgians from across the state are invited to attend a celebration commemorating 100 years of service. On Saturday Sept. 6, Fort Valley State University will host the Cooperative Extension Centennial Celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the FVSU Health and Physical Education Complex.  The event is free and open to the public.

Alumni Spotlight: Geneva West

For the month of August, Fort Valley State University is honoring Geneva West, a Wildcat alum who is helping young girls accomplish their dreams of pursuing careers in S.T.E.M (science, technology, engineering, and math) while building their self-esteem.
West is the founder and executive director of the Real I.M.P.A.C.T. Center, Inc. The acronym stands for Intelligent and Motivated People Actively Changing the Times.

FVSU becomes tobacco and smoke-free campus

August 15, 2014 - Beginning August 18, Fort Valley State University will implement a new system-wide policy that prohibits the use of tobacco products on campus. 

FVSU will officially become a tobacco and smoke-free campus to be in line with with the new University System Board of Regents Policy 9.1.7 that was approved in March 2014. The policy states that the use of all forms of tobacco products on campus is prohibited.
